Why does Super Buu absorb Gotenks, Piccolo then Gohan?

Super Buu no longer just dashes. He observes his adversaries and prepares traps. When Gohan returns with his potential unleashed, the Saiyan dominates the fight. Buu understands that he must obtain a higher power and waits for Goten and Trunks to reform Gotenks.

He then absorbs Gotenks and Piccolo. His new form takes on the Fusion vest and gains the power of Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, while Piccolo's tactical intelligence improves his reasoning. This combination temporarily overpowers Gohan.

Vegito lets himself be absorbed while protecting his body, then Goku and Vegeta move inside Buu. They free Gohan, Piccolo, Goten and Trunks. Each withdrawal removes acquired power and traits from the Majin. The last decisive element is the cocoon of good Buu.

Vegeta snatches it despite Super Buu's warning.
