Granola's Revenge is based on a real fact, but an incomplete story. The Saiyans participated in the destruction of Cereal under the authority of Frieza. As a child, Granola saw their attack and was traumatized. What he doesn't know is that a Saiyan disobeyed to protect him and that Elec, the man he would later work for, killed his mother.

Bardock does not thus cancel the participation of the Saiyans in the massacre. He was part of the invasion force before saving this small group. His gesture, however, proves that all the members of his people cannot be reduced to a single moral block. This nuance shatters the certainty on which Granola built his revenge.

Elec kills Muezli, Granola's mother. Monaito then raises the child without immediately revealing this truth or Bardock's saving role to him. When Granola prepares to sacrifice his life to kill Vegeta, the Namekian finally intervenes and tells what happened.
